Outstanding Chapter of the Year
The Outstanding Chapter of the Year award will go to one Blue or Green Health Chapter that exhibits exemplary qualities across multiple health status categories. This chapter may have excelled in developing outstanding programming, implementing highly successful membership campaigns, and identifying and engaging future leaders. Please provide specific examples and measurable results of initiatives the chapter implemented in 2022, detailing why you feel this sets your chapter apart from others and how this advances the SHM mission.
Rising Star Chapter
The Rising Star Chapter award will go to one Purple Health (provisional) chapter or a chapter that has been active for two years or less and has made improvements to its leadership, stability and growth, and membership. Please provide the details on the status of your chapter 12 months prior and what projects or programs your chapter has put into place to improve and develop your chapter.
Outstanding Retention and Membership Recruitment
The Outstanding Retention and Membership Recruitment award will go to a chapter that has gone above and beyond to implement highly successful membership campaigns that recruit and retain SHM members within the chapter. Chapters should describe specific details and measurable results of initiatives carried out in the past 12 months to recruit new members and retain existing ones.
Resiliency Award
The Resiliency award will go to a chapter that has gone above and beyond to showcase its ability to withstand and rise above hardships and challenges as well as to successfully adapt and position the chapter for long-term sustainability and success.
Shining Star
The Shining Star award will go to one chapter to recognize an outstanding event that took place in 2022. The chapter should detail all areas of collaboration during the planning phase, creativity included in the program development, and the overall engagement of attendees. Please provide as much detail as possible including why this event was so successful and how the success was measured.
Professional Wellbeing Champion
This Professional Wellbeing Champion award recognizes a chapter that has gone above and beyond to develop programming or initiatives to support chapter members' professional wellbeing and reduce burnout. Chapters should describe specific details on projects or programs they carried out in the past 12 months to support hospitalist wellbeing.
Most Engaged Chapter Leader
The Most Engaged Chapter Leader award will go to one Chapter Leader or District Chair who is either nominated or self-nominated. Chapter leaders should demonstrate how they or their nominee has gone above and beyond in the past year to grow and sustain their chapter and/or district and continues to carry out the SHM mission.
Unsung Hero
The Unsung Hero award will go to a chapter leader who has positively influenced SHM from behind the scenes with a positive attitude, a willingness to help in whatever capacity necessary, and by supporting other chapter members. (No self-nominations.)
Chapter Initiative Fund Award
The Chapter Initiative Fund award recognizes the chapters that have successfully carried out an outstanding Initiative Fund proposal to engage the local SHM membership. The chapter should detail all areas of collaboration during the planning phase, innovation included in the development of the initiative, how it was executed, and the overall engagement of SHM members. Please describe as much detail as possible including why this initiative was so successful and how the success was measured. Chapters must have applied for the Chapter Initiative Fund to be eligible for this award. Chapters that were not awarded Initiative Funds will still qualify for the award if they carried out the project planned using chapter activity funds.
